Clinics and Services

We offer a range of clinics and services including those below. For more information, please visit our Health Review and Assessment Clinic Room.

Our practice provides the following services:

Asthma Clinics

If you suffer with asthma it is important for you to have a medical review at least once a year to help monitor and manage your condition. The surgery will contact you when your annual asthma check is due.

If you contact the surgery to request a review please advise reception when making the appointment that this is for an asthma review, so that the appropriate amount of time is allocated.

You can find information regarding how to manage your asthma on the Asthma UK website.

Cervical Screening

Letters advising patients that they are due to have a screening test are sent out centrally and patients are asked to contact their surgery for screening.

Please advise the receptionist that your appointment is for a screening test so that they ensure that sufficient time is allowed for the appointment.

Child Health Services

Baby weighing scales are available daily in the waiting room.

Childhood Immunisations

Appointments are available for childhood vaccinations with a nurse. Please look on the following website for more information regarding childhood immunisations:

COPD Clinics

Patients who have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or other Respiratory illnesses are cared for by one of our specialist nurses, and supported by a GP.

The surgery will contact you regarding an annual review appointment. For some patients, these reviews are recommended at six-month intervals depending on symptoms or number of exacerbations (chest infections) a year.

If you are concerned your review is overdue, please contact the surgery on 01726 882745.

Doppler Assessments

Our practice nurses can assess the blood pressures in both legs and feet for patients requiring compression stockings. If you would like an appointment for this, please contact reception.

Diabetes

Appointments are available for a diabetes review with the practice nurse and a GP.

These appointments are valuable in helping to ensure the condition is managed well, that the medication is correct and to give regular opportunities to ask questions etc.

Patients due a check-up will be contacted by the surgery. If you are concerned that you are overdue a review, please contact the surgery.

Chronic Heart Disease (CHD)

Patients with this condition are seen annually, or more frequently if the patient has recently had a cardiac event or signs or symptoms of some instability etc.

Patients will be contacted by the surgery if they are due a review.

Alternatively, you can contact the surgery to request one.

Leg Ulcers

Nurse appointments are available for patients with leg ulcers and are predominantly for patients requiring compression therapy. If you require an appointment for this, please contact reception.

At your appointment a full holistic assessment is completed and a treatment plan will be established. Nurses then provide care at a mutually agreed time until the ulcer is healed. A follow-up service to reduce recurrence is available.
